"Early intensive behavioral programs are the only currently researched and proven treatment for autism"

Autism Program : Payment

Providers/programs that pay for services at PIE are:

  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield Plans of Minnesota
  • MCHA (Minnesota Comprehensive Health Association)
  • PMAP through Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  • MR/RC Waivers
  • CADI Waivers

PIE is a participating provider through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota and we will assist you in obtaining Prior Authorization for services. Families are responsible to pay for co-payments, deductibles and any other provisions indicated within your medical insurance plan. PIE will bill you separately for any patient responsibility portions that are indicated on the explanation of benefits summary from the insurance company.

Payment from any other insurance plans will need to be reviewed on an individual basis. PIE can assist in getting benefits quoted from your insurance provider but Members are responsible to obtain benefit information and inquire about exclusions, deductibles, etc. Services cannot begin until confirmation of payment has been obtained in writing from the insurance provider to PIE.

PIE is not a medical assistance (TEFRA) provider and therefore can not bill medical assistance for payment of services or deductibles or co-payments for autism services.

Private pay options are also available and a service agreement will be set up with the individual responsible for payment.
